Who was the most influential teacher in my life?

Mr. Knowles – my high school Math tutor and mentor. What made him influential wasn’t just that he helped me pass Math (though I desperately needed that!). It was that he saw potential in me when I couldn’t see it in myself. Mr. Knowles gave me one-on-one attention when I was struggling. He didn’t just teach me formulas – he taught me that I was capable of academic success. He believed in me when I was a pregnant teenager trying to graduate high school with a baby.He didn’t see my circumstances. He saw my POTENTIAL. That kind of mentorship changed my trajectory. I graduated high school with my baby in my arms, went on to earn my B.S. in Religion with Christian Counseling, and now I’m graduating with my Master’s in Human Services Counseling (May 2026). Great teachers don’t just teach subjects – they teach BELIEF. They show you that you’re capable of more than you thought possible.Interesting note: Mr. Knowles is Beyoncé’s uncle. But to me, he’ll always be the man who refused to let me give up on myself. Who was YOUR most influential teacher? What did they teach you beyond the classroom?
